The first class was very interesting. I'm finally forced to learn about blogs. I have set up my first blog and this is my first posting. I learned alot in class today, and left with even more to do than I learned. Today, we learned the importance of language, audiences and about each other.

I personally thought the first class sort of sucked, I don't know what annoyed me more the part where they actually explained a steel ruler and self healing cutting board to GRAD STUDENTS or the part when they showed people how to set up GMAIL account (3 tries to get it right how sad)

It actually wasn't setting up a gmail account; it was setting up a blog account. If you already had a blog there under the e-mail address you used, it wouldn't let you set up an account (obviously.) I forgot that I signed up for a blog at blogspot many moons ago under my gmail address. I have since navigated to wordpress, but still have a blog set up with my gmail address at blogspot.

That's why it didn't work when they tried mine. Unfortunately, I didn't remember that until after they tried to set it up.

You're first blog and already you have a little drama...nice! :)

To your post, sleep?? Never. An old boss once told me, while suffering through my job and school FT, after dragging myself into the office, to buck up, because I can sleep when I'm dead.

Grad students or not, some don't have exposure to those tools. Personally, having been in a class where I sat clueless hearing about printing with bleeds and CMYK values, I don't mind the first class being guaged at that level. It's not as if PBDS requires an art, graphic design, or mixed media background.

Sorry It's been awhile since I've been in school, I just prefer things move at a faster pace.

You know what, I feel that those who do come into a situation where they already know more than everyone, has to be able to not get annoyed when instructors have to cater to those who do not know. They deserve to know the information as well. Patience... I go through enough to understand where Markorama is coming from, but that isn't fair to those on the other side... I just like it when instructor let those informed already leave early. I LOVE THAT... too bad that isn't the case in this class ever....
